Mia Hall
Program Director

2007 Millersville graduate Mia Gambino Hall starred for the Marauder women’s lacrosse team for four seasons, and after two seasons as the head coach at Shippensburg, Hall took over the head coaching duties at Millersville prior to the 2012 season. She succeeded her former mentor Barb Waltman, who retired in 2011 as the longest-tenured coach in Division II history.

Hall completed seven seasons at the helm of the Marauder program in 2018. In 2018 the Marauders posted 10 wins, setting school records for goals and assists, and five players were named All-PSAC. The high-powered offense included Sabrina Fusco setting the single-season record for goals, and Kristen Butzner breaking the assist and points record. Both players led the PSAC in those respective categories. In 2016, Hall led the Marauders to their first PSAC Tournament appearance since 2001 and their 11 wins were the most since 1990. Bridget Hufnagel headlined a talented offensive team as she set the single-season scoring record.

Three times in her tenure, a Millersville player has broken the single-season record for assists. Hall coached Millersville's first ever PSAC Freshman of the Year Sabrina Fusco in 2015. Fusco went on to be a four-time All-PSAC selection and the program's all-time leading goal scorer.

Hall's teams posted winning records in three her last six year. Millersville had produced just one above .500 record in the nine years prior to Hall's arrival.

In just her first season, Hall made a drastic improvement in the Millersville offense. After scoring just 117 goals and 158 in 2011, Hall’s 2012 squad collected 198 goals and 240 points. In year two, Hall turned the Millersville offense into one of the best units in the PSAC. The 2013 squad broke the programs all-time record for goals in a season with 221. The previous record of 217 had not been touched since 1989. Hall also orchestrated the first trio of Marauders to score 40-plus goals in a year for the first time since Millersville began tracking individual records in 2004. The team went 9-7 in her second season to capture its first winning record since 2008 and the most wins in a season in 12 years.

Hall developed 19 All-PSAC performers and six players have totaled over 100 career goals to rank in the top 10 in Millersville's history. Hall also led the team through continued community service efforts. In 2013, the Marauders were the recipient of the PSAC Sportsmanship Award because of their work in helping the Seton Hill lacrosse program and families effected by a fatal bus accident.

Hall quickly moved through the coaching ranks, and just one year removed from graduation, she was hired as the head coach at Shippensburg. As a first-year head coach, Hall led the Lady Raiders to an 8-9 overall record and a solid 5-5 PSAC mark. The following season, Hall’s team went 8-8 with a 4-7 league record. In two seasons, Hall produced seven All-PSAC selections, including three first team picks.

After graduating from Millersville with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and minor in coaching, Hall spent a year as an assistant to Anne Phillips at Franklin & Marshall. That season, she helped the Diplomats to a 19-2 record and a return trip to the NCAA Division III Championship.

As a player under Waltman, Hall was an All-PSAC First Team selection in her final two seasons and was a Division II Academic All-American. She served as team captain for two seasons and was named IWLCA All-Region as a junior. She led Millersville in groundballs during all four of her competitive seasons, totaling 156, and she consistently ranking amongst the team leaders in caused turnovers. In 2006, Hall ranked second in the PSAC for groundballs and caused turnovers. She graduated cum laude in 2007 and earned a master’s of education degree from Millersville in 2009.

She also competed at the international level. Hall was chosen to represent the United States of America in the American International Sports Team in Prague, Czech Republic, earning MVP of the Prague Cup.

A 2002 graduate of Pottsgrove High School, Hall was an All-PAC-10 defender and was named all-area first team as a senior. She was also a club player for Phillips’ CLC Coventry Club team that went on to win the 2000 Keystone State Games gold medal and the silver medal in 2001.

Mia has been the director at Lanco Elite since 2017.
